Back in 2012 when I was writing the blog each day I occasionally searched in vain for this photie; serendipity-today whilst looking in an old box I stumbled across it by accident. I reckon it's from 51 years ago out the back of The Stair in the Hoffmanns' back garden which was always a sun-trap. Iain looks around three years old, whilst Norman Stewart and I look about five and about to start school at Hunters Tryst. Norman (6/3) and I were sometimes best friends, at least for a year or two and in the same class for seven years, where we had a certain rivalry in the top five in the class. Next door neighbour, Gavin (6/1), now Dr Gavin Swanson is far right and a year short of starting his distinguished academic career.

'And finally, not everyone’s being doing topical. In fact, here’s the rather lovely 6 Oxgangs Avenue devoted to the history of the development of the area, this week highlighting how the block of flats came into being. Could have been prompted by Who do you think you are? Or just a timely reminder that not everything worth blogging about is in the here and now.'
