This fantastic photie was taken from the City Hospital grounds between 1948 and 1952 looking out onto the Oxgangs farmland in the foreground with a few prefabs and Colinton Mains in the middle distance to the right and the Pentlands in the far distance.
It appears on Peter Stubbs' Edinburgh Photo site along with a few others sent in by a former nurse. It's really quite amazing what treasures are now appearing and being shared by people from the mists of time for others to enjoy thanks to the internet. |
