'And finally, not everyone’s being doing topical. In fact, here’s the rather lovely 6 Oxgangs Avenue devoted to the history of the development of the area, this week highlighting how the block of flats came into being. Could have been prompted by Who do you think you are? Or just a timely reminder that not everything worth blogging about is in the here and now.'

I'd like some more please!

I've been reminded we used to lap up puddings at 6/2 especially Instant Whip and Custard & Bananas (not together!)-failing memory...senior moment...etc...humble apologies mum-no doubt the first of many such lapses!

Could do with a bowl of strawberry flavour right now-low blood sugars!

As I recall Instant Whip was superseded by Angel Delight in the early 70s - at 16 Swanston Avenue, anyway. I'm not sure why - superior branding marketing?? We had an egg beater at 16SA which never beat an egg in its life - only ever used for mixing up I Whip/A Delight. Caramel flavour for pref. Funnily enough, I associate the rather more exotic caramel with AD but plain vanilla with IW ....
